Alameda County California

Alameda County is part of the San Francisco East Bay region. A large county with a population of 1.5 million residents, Alameda's county seat is Oakland, its largest city. Heavily urbanized in the West, especially along San Francisco Bay, the county's southeastern region is sparsely populated, agricultural and mountainous. The Coast Range bisects the county from Northwest to Southeast. Newer, suburban cities occupy the eastern region of the county.
